Just got back from Anna's where I watched ANTM and did my mending. I know, the exciting life I lead? We also ate some killer lamb stew.
A very very draining day, but good, with the exception of the headache.
But, it's time for days 4 to 6 of my 365 day photo journey.
Day 4
Archie is an eating machine. Srsly, he's outgrowing his cage at a massive rate. So I pulled out the kitchen scales and weighed him. 800 grams or 1.8 lbs. Tubby little bastard.

Day 5
My friends will often hear me bemoan the lack of good Mexican food in this country. To help alleviate this I made chicken and bean enchiladas on Monday night. Now, I meant to get a photo after they came out of the oven looking AMAZING. But, um, they looked amazing. So instead you get the post inhalation photo.

Day 6
There are really random things I'm picky about. Tea for instance, I'll pretty much only drink Lady Grey, Russian Caravan or green or jasmine, of which I'm picky yet again. Hot chocolate is another. I love it, and there are two types I like. Cadbury, and this, Green & Black's Organic, which has Sugar, Cocoa Powder and Dark Chocolate on it's ingredient list. And that's it. It also must be made with heated milk, and now that it's winter it will start featuring more heavily I believe. Mug a gift from the WONDERFUL
kansaschica, who I am insanely overdue for a phone call to.

Also, because
moongirli requested it?
Irish/Lamb Stew Recipe
First of all, I'm an approximate cooker. I learned from people who don't really believe in measuring (except for baking, and that's different). I also change things up depending on what's available, so nothing is the same twice.
4-5 lamb chops, about 1 kilo. I recommend taking them off the bones. If you use de-boned lamb, or a different cut about 3/4 of a kilo.
4-5 large potatoes in slices
2-3 onions, in slices (though I made it onion free tonight and it rocked)
5-6 carrots, again, slices
some mushrooms, chopped (This is one of those me grabbing whatever other vegetable is around things)
Half a SMALL head of cabbage, chopped.
1 bottle dark or stout beer. Can also use beef stock, or a mix.
Salt, pepper, Rosemary
Line bottom of slow cooker or oven proof dish with cabbage. Layer lamb on top, add salt, pepper and rosemary. layer carrots and mushrooms. Cover with potatoes. More with the salt, pepper and rosemary. Pour beer over. If not enough liquid, add stock or water. Cover. Cook in slow cooker for 5-6 hours on low, or in oven on about 180 F for 2-3 hours.
TADA! Stew for us all!
And with that, it's bedtime
